The International Kirtan Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization, officially exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. The exemption is effective from January 25, 2005, the date of IKF's incorporation in the State of Illinois. We are deeply grateful for the kind and generous services and expertise of Lisa Stegink and award-winning firm, Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP, who helped to incorporate the International Kirtan Foundation and to establish it as a nonprofit organization.
Mission Statement:
The mission for the International Kirtan Foundation (IKF) is to promote and sponsor events and activities that teach and facilitate the opening of the heart to the divine through the sacred music of kirtan and its related activities of cultural origins. To offer broad-based general public access to these cross-cultural experiences, the IKF will provide support and educational resources to interested organizations and communities throughout the nation and the world.
Kirtan Connection Website:
To accomplish the above mission, IKF has developed for public access the Kirtan Connection website, an interactive site for kirtan related events and activities consistent with the above mission statement. The Kirtan Connection website was created to provide ongoing service and support to the growing kirtan community of the world.
The Kirtan Connection website will: offer free website pages and listing submissions for kirtan artists, bands, venues, and events; host all listings online for the general public; provide searchable forum services for greater networking, sharing, community, and event development; enable all public users to find kirtan events anywhere in the world; offer networking abilities to those who wish to start or host kirtan events; provide a platform for sharing advice, tips and experiences within the world of kirtan; serve as a community site for both the experienced kirtan community as well as the general public, all free of charge.
