The Kirtan Wallahs lead kirtan every Sunday evening at 7pm. Admission is free and open to all, and donations are welcome. If you’re in Sedona on a Sunday night, please come join us!
The group was formed by Natesh in 2004 and has offered weekly Bliss of Kirtan evenings for over 5 years. The instruments they primarily play are guitar, esraj and one or more drums (dholak and/or djembe).
Natesh has been chanting in this tradition for almost 30 years. He composed his first chant in the early 80's and has since written over 100 chants, all but a few in the last 6 years. Natesh sings and plays guitar for the chants. Monnie Ramsell sings and primarily plays the esraj, and occasionally the harmonium. She has been with the Wallahs since the beginning.
Lee Moore plays djembe for the group, anchoring the beat on a regular basis. Bruce Kramer primarily plays the dholak and also plays flute and some other instruments as well.
Namaste!
